In the Beginning there was the First Step....

Hi there Gentle Reader,

Rainy and cooler day here in Toronto.  The start of the Toronto International Film Festival too so lotsa stars in the 'hood *gets out camera and telephoto lens* Coffee? Tea? Chilled fresh juice? Got it all here in the kitchen of Chartreuse Monkey!

Now that we're in the week of "back to school", it can also mean "back to projects!" - summer is usually a time where most people like to have fun and not think too much about their "Ta-Da" list.  You know me, I love that list but even I also enjoy patio time.  A Leo is always a Leo.  Plus we had the BEST weather this summer so before the first snowflake arrives, I wanted to take advantage of those beautiful warm temps.

However, over the long (and CCCHILLY) weekend, I started organizing again and getting back to basics.  Rearranged my art studio and have plans to get a new lens soon.  Um, replacing actually - one of the kittens tried to play soccer with it.  Kitten 1, Lens 0.   Fall is my favourite season because of the amazing autumn colours - the trees are spectacular and I look forward to capturing the rainbow of reds, greens, and golds.  Oh and PUMPKINS!!! I'm just like Linus when it comes to hanging around pumpkins.  A bit obsessive I admit.  Plus having black cats in the family, well you are always on the verge of a Halloween photo opportunity!

Also now's the time to start doing the clothing transition from short sleeves to long sleeves and getting those sweaters out.  I was looking at some new Converse sneakers at lunch today - plaids, corduroy and other great autumn styles.  Even a "pumpkin spice" colour - be still my fall-loving heart!

Remember our 1 item out for every new item that comes into your home? Well this is a fabulous time of year to do that as well. I am sure there are some clothes that you didn't wear this summer (and maybe not even last summer) so perhaps it is time to give them away.  If I haven't worn something in 2 years, then most likely I will never wear it in the future.

So for this week, get out your notebook or journal, and just jot down 10 projects/tasks/goals that you would like to complete this Fall season.  Sometimes it helps to take a walk around your home to get an idea (physically or in your mind).  For me, I still have to take my leather coat to the tailor to be resized.  I would have gladly worn it this morning! Brrrrr.....

We can compare notes tomorrow!!

Until Friday.

Linda
