All You Need is Love
Hello there and welcome to the kitchen of Chartreuse Monkey!
Can I get you a coffee? Comfy chair? Raspberry danish? All is good and calorie-free in my world!
I am finding that lately, watching less news is better for me. I admit I am an info junkie. I can watch CP24 for hours (love those sound bites), and CNN used to be my newsy source of choice. However, I am also discovering that less is more. I am trying to experience the world up close and personal but on my own terms and in my own neighbourhood.
You know me and connections. LOVE 'EM! However, the media can slant the true information so much than it becomes a completely different story. The G20 coverage was a classic example. I saw some of it with my own eyes and it didn't quite match with the reports on tv.
So, here's my plan now. I still watch the news (I admit I am slightly addicted to CP24) but only for an overview of the daily happenings. Not for endless repeats or in depth analysis (by the journalists and myself). I don't want to spend my energy on that anymore. I want to use my creative vibes to hang out with family and friends, play with the kitties, make art, and generally live the best life that I can on this planet.
I enjoy giving back to the world too - charities, time, and hugs! Who doesn't need an extra hug now and then? We all do! I tend to support animal organizations when it comes to coinage. Every dollar counts so don't ever think that a small amount doesn't matter. It does!
Maybe if we just love our world a little more, learn not to get so stressed when listening to the news (you can turn it off, there's a button!), and generally send out positive vibes to those around us, we would all sleep a little better.
Until Friday!!
Linda
