When You Can't Explain It
Happy FRIDAY morning Gentle Reader!!
Soooo close to the weekend - w00t-squared!
Still organizing my clothes and wondering what the heck I was thinking in buying or even STILL hanging onto some items. A blue shirt that I wore to a favourite concert...in 1997!! Doesn't really fit properly and is now completely out of fashion but yet... Not like I haven't seen this performer since - in fact, we're friends! *shakes head*
Or all the magazine articles that I felt were dire for me to read and now, for the life of me, can't recall why.
I've managed to keep my Christmas magazine collection to under a dozen but that's a difficult one to ever let go.
I mean CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!! (6+ months away Gentle Reader - just wait until you seen how keen this keener gets!)
Old childhood toys can be difficult to part with - whether or not your childhood was all Brady Bunch or Partridge Family. We all had that one game or stuffed animal that brings all the memories back. For me it was my Tearie Dearie doll from 1964. LOVED her. While the doll is long gone, I do have a photo from Christmas 1964 where I am holding her. If you don't mind parting with your beloved toys and they are good condition, you can always go to ebay.com to get the value and perhaps make some coinage!
If you have many items that are currently stored in a box and out of sight, it might be time to let them go. Always best to display your treasures on a regular basis. Having things packed away in boxes (and taking up valuable storage space in your home), means you really don't want these items any more BUT there is some kind of sentimental attachment to them. If it is connected to old heartache (relationship that didn't work out, previous home that you miss), it is healthier to let them go. Otherwise you relive the sadness or longing every single time you even see the box, let alone lift the lid.
Recycle the items or take photos of the ones that did mean something to you but perhaps are not practical in your new space or life. Then Gentle Reader, just let them go. You can do it. I know you can!
Have a great weekend and I'll see you on Monday!
