Heart Full

Hey there Gentle Reader,

Tuesday is here with rain on the side.  Hello DYNASTY hair!

G20 protests have already begun days before the world leaders meet in Huntsville and then Toronto.  This should be a very interesting week.  Here's hoping it is a safe one for all involved.  I want Toronto to be on the global map for the CN Tower, sports, and theatre NOT for anything less than stellar.

I have always been fascinated with the attachment people have to things.  How you can adore an item for years because of the sentimental connection and then to have it change because YOU change.  I've been known to save ticket stubs from movies and concerts that were significant at one time but honestly (I'm old folks) don't really remember many MANY years later!  I mean your taste in fashion, music, and television can be all over the place throughout your life.  That's the fun part of life - the variety!

I realize it is very difficult to let go of some things in your life.  Please know that detaching from an item doesn't mean you honour it any less.  Just shows you that you know the memory will always be with you, even if the item is not.

Sometimes you need to let go of certain items in order to move on with your life. This can mean physical, emotional, or even spiritual attachments that no longer keep your heart full of joy.  Sure, you can have boxes of stuff in storage for years and not really know what's in each carton.  Been there, done that, MORE than a few times.

However, eventually you should tackle those boxes, open 'em up, and either use and appreciate what's inside OR close the lid and recycle. I've come across items that I had no clue why I kept them and we're talking lots of prime real estate in my storage unit!

Sure, I have missed a few things that are now gone BUT in all honesty, I love the actual space or peace of mind that I now have in return.

Two books that have really helped me when it comes to emotional detachment are: "Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shiu" by Karen Kingston

 http://www.amazon.com/Letting-Person-You-Used-Transformation/dp/0767908740/ref=ntt_at_ep_dpi_2 - must reads!

Until Wednesday!

Linda
