Where's the Fire?

Hey there Gentle Reader,

Very sunny Tuesday and all is lovely here in the kitchen of Chartreuse Monkey.  You've come to a friendly place where you can drink as much coffee and tea as you'd like. Enjoy!!

Seems that whenever I take some time off, I tend to do a lot of thinking. A LOT.  In coffee houses, on sunny walks, while running errands, etc. My journal is always with me too.   There is something about writing in pen on paper that makes me smile.  I love being surrounded by a circle of laptops while at Starbuck's.  I've never been afraid to stand out!

Of course being outdoors more often allows me to slow down and truly be mindful of my environment.  Not at first though.  Takes me a few days to unwind before I can actually focus clearly.  I would like to say that being caffeine-enhanced has something to do with it but no.  That's just me!

The best part of writing in a journal is that your ideas LOVE being out on paper. One thought can easily encourage another one to appear.  While the list may seem abstract, it really isn't.  You will start to notice patterns and certain themes will resurface on a regular basis.  Others will show up that you had NO idea that you were thinking about at all.  Truly. People, events, and even frustrations.   Things that have been bothering you but only in your  subconscious (and you thought those sleepless nights were the coffee....nope)

Sometimes you will need numerous attempts at list writing before the good stuff is on paper.  You'll see!

How about if tonight, before you go to bed, take a deep breath, and write a list of ideas that you have been reviewing in your noggin' for awhile.  They go to sleep.  When you get up, don't look at the original list but write on another sheet of paper and then compare the two.  You might be surprised at the results.

Until Wednesday!

Linda
