Time Out
Howdy and all good things to you Gentle Reader,
So, here we are in Spring in Toronto and it is freakin' freezing out there. The sun is shining but I am convinced this is actually a hologram. Either that or I have been watching the Space Channel too much (seriously, I need to spend some time on earth for a bit).
I have noticed that the last few weeks have flown past and I still have some outstanding items on my ta-da list. Plus with the coming art show in May, and some lovely time off at the end of the month, my days are getting busier. No complaints at all though.
It is really easy to come home, have all those good intentions to get those tasks completed but as you head over to the computer to update your Facebook status.....BAZINGA...it is bedtime (or past!).
So I am taking a wee break from technology for a couple of days. Oh I will still be HERE as in Chartreuse Monkey's kitchen, but not in my online community.
As you may recall, I have been Blackberry-less (yes, that IS a word in my dictionary...) for about a month now. While I do miss it like crazy (the email part), I am not planning on getting another one until July or so. Until that time, you just need to shout and wave when you see me and I'll come over.
The thing about tasks is that they just wait patiently for you. The paperwork doesn't organize itself, those socks won't heal (ya got to mend them!), and those receipts won't recycle themselves! So as I sat at my computer, I would move some of these items BEHIND the monitor (another bonus of a bigger screen!!) until the kitty cats would knock them over (books, letters). Tonight will be the time to clear those tasks off the list. I am reading two books right now and not really advancing in either! Which means I will be re-reading those first few chapters before bed.
Amazing how much mental energy and space these little things can take up. They just happily float about in your noggin' and LOVE to show up just before you drift off or when you're out enjoying a lovely meal with your friends.
So today, how about taking one item from your list and completing it. Just a small one but one that you have been meaning to complete for weeks now (or as I used to do - write it on a post-it so it moves from week to week in your agenda book!!)
Hope to see you here tomorrow!
Linda
