Arty Pants

Hi there,

Fabulous seeing you on this stellar Saturday.  Sunshine in the big city as far as you can see (note to self: fill that eye-glass prescription PRONTO).

While I work in an office by day, my mind is always focused on art.  I love to paint and have started creating again after a few decades of laying low.  I'm a photographer too BUT lately the canvas has had my attention.  Of course yesterday I was out snapping pix.  Yeah I'm all over the map these days!

However, as part of this new found love for art, I've also discovered a vibrant, caring, and supportive artist community (both locally and globally).  So I have been happily spending time with artsy pals, attending their shows, getting to know them, AND purchasing their art!  There is something magical about becoming friends with an artist.  You get a glimpse into their amazing world by seeing their artistic creations.  Plus seeing their world inspires my own!! Win-win!!

We all know at least one person who creates art. Could be that friend who makes those AMAZING colourful wool hats, or that neighbour who has the BEST handpainted mailbox on the street (the one that has little multicoloured squirrels all over it!) We ALL have a creative side and need to learn to play more often.

When I enjoyed finger painting in the mid 1960's, I had no idea I'd still love it today!  You would be surprised (or NOT) at how many arts and crafts activities you would happily do today if given the chance.   Can you imagine if you started every single morning by colouring at least three pictures from a giant colouring book? With the box of 64 Crayola's by your side? *SWOONS*

Today I want you to have some artsy fun.  Doodle butterflies on your grocery list,  head over to the dollar store and pick up some gem stickers to put on your wall calendar (for those extra EXTRA special days - like every day!), or draw smiley faces on your outgoing bill payments.

You'll be grinning all day!

Linda
