Maintain the Status Quo

Howdy Gentle Reader,

Sunday and sunny and LAUNDRY.  Yeah my favourite chore - truly.  An easy trade-off with some of the stuff I'm not crazy about doing.  Don't get me started on DUSTING.  Dusting creates dust every single time. Enough said.

Sometimes I find that my paper organization (and we ALL have that one area that multiplies like crazy if left unchecked) would be less cluttered if I maintained it day to day.  Somehow though I seem to like to see it grow to a mini paper mountain before I tackle it (or the kid-tens get to it - they are little balls of energy and are drawn to paper!)

The trick is getting into the habit for about 10 minutes a day to walk through your home (or a little longer if your home is bigger).  We all know which areas of organization challenge us the most.   Some of us seem to be always hanging up clothes, others are picking up toys (kids or pets!), and then there are the catalogues, magazines, and flyers, oh my!!  Some newspapers can have up to 22 or more flyers in ONE edition.  WTHeck?! Do we need to know that Kleenex is the SAME price at 9 different pharmacies? Perhaps we do Gentle Reader, perhaps we do.

So back to the organizing.....today, just start with 5 minutes and take a stroll around your living room and kitchen.  Anything that is not where it should be, either file (ie. bills), recycle (flyers for take-out places you would never use), or store (those lightbulbs that need to go in the hall closet and not next to the toaster...yes, this note is for me...)

Just 5 to 10 minutes per day will save you a few extra hours on the weekend when everything seems overwhelming and cluttered. You know me, always have that reward ready after to act as incentive.  You'll have a clean space and a treat! ME? A latte of course! It is ALWAYS about the coffee!

Until Monday....

Linda
