For Your Inspiration!

Howdy Gentle Reader,

Having a great Monday so far? If not, then here's hoping that the next hour improves!  I've got coffee, tea, and hot chocolate.  Sit down and relax.  We've got all day!

You know, every time I go through a magazine (especially Oprah's or InStyle), I fall in love with latest decor, fashion, etc.  That makes it difficult to eventually recycle the magazine for fear that I will miss seeing those fabulous photos.   SO, I decided to keep my heart happy AND my need for organization.

Now I just take the photos from the magazines that make my heart skip a beat, cut them out, and place them in an "Inspiration Book" to review whenever I want.  I took a 3-ring binder (chartreuse of course!) and taped or glued the photos to stronger scrapbook paper and placed them in the binder.   I tried using regular 3-hole-punch paper but found it to be a bit too flimsy. This thicker paper works much better.   You can pick it up at most dollar or craft stores.  A Vision Board in a book form.  The book only allows you to have it a certain size otherwise the binder won't close properly. When it gets too big, you can start a second one OR reorganize the first one.  Same mantra, one old picture out for every new one in!

You'll find your book to be a great source of creative inspiration if you experience artist's block OR you just need a pick me up.  It can include magazine pictures, poems (your own and those written by others), your photos, fabric swatches, strands of multicoloured wool, your favourite colours (we ALL have favourite COLOURS), stickers, glittery decals....whatever gives you big goofy grins!  I want this book to be a delight to look through and impossible to put back on the bookshelf.  Plus it takes up a fraction of the space you would be using if you kept all those magazines intact.  Just keeping the best parts tells the universe to only bring you the good stuff!

Sometimes you'll discover an interesting NEW pattern that you hadn't realized before - a love for a particular colour or decor theme that you would have never chosen on your own.  Your heart/soul always knows what you want - your head sometimes takes a bit longer to catch up!

You can start small, say just go through one or two magazines today and cut out those pictures.  Then recycle the rest.  Even doing 5 or 6  pages each weekend will give you a wonderful book in a short time.

I can't think of anyone better to inspire you than YOU!

Linda
