Bonus Time!
Hey there Gentle Reader,
Sunny Monday and Monkey is in da house! Well of course I am. Silly! Ok, who wants coffee and where are my tea drinkers?
Some people had today off and I am so grateful to be one of them! Went to see "How to Train A Dragon" (3D IMAX) - wonderful film! Very much like UP! (cute characters, funny, and a charming story-line). Starting to go to more movies lately - we're all 3D now huh? Saw "Clash of the Titans" 3D on Saturday. Enjoyed it but not as much as Dragon.
Whenever I get a bonus day like today, I also like to get as much accomplished as possible. Some organizing, some fun, some sunshine. Had a lovely Thai dinner out too - so early we were the only ones in the restaurant. When does THAT happen in Toronto?
I did major spring cleaning yesterday and threw out some items that I had been holding onto for years. YEARS. I love animal organizations and had a few t-shirts from them that had pretty much worn out. I don't wear them anymore but kept storing them. They're recycled now which leaves room for new shirts (one out before one in, remember!)
What I love about organizing and recycling and shredding paper (mmmm shredding) is completion. The item is either housed in a location where I'll actually find it (THERE'S a novel idea Linda!), or gives me space back as it gets recycled.
I used to be all about quantity over quality but when you've moved as many times as I have, well you get to a stage where it isn't fun anymore. Paying to ship boxes of items that you never use or can't even remember why you kept them. There are much better ways to spend coinage (like art, music, and cupcakes!!!)
Always good to make use of your time, even if some of it is waiting for someone or something else. Read a couple of articles from that new Oprah magazine, take a few older books off your bookshelf and drop them off at your local library branch, or recycle that old spatula because no one, I repeat NO ONE, needs to keep a "back-up" spatula in case of a pancake emergency (yes, this IS a message for my eyes!).
Until Tuesday, keep smiling!
Linda
