Pay It Forward for the Animals....
Hey Gentle Reader,
Hope your Wednesday is everything you want it to be and more! Lots more!!
Had a very interesting experience a few weeks about random acts of kindness. A friend celebrated her birthday in early March and is a huge animal lover and activist. Does so much behind the scenes too - never wants recognition for it. A real silent solider.
I got to thinking that it would be lovely if friends could join me by doing random acts of kindness to honour her birthday. Well I wasn't surprised when I put the word out to my critter-loving pals. Easy peasy.
However, this is where the universe had fun too...
I told a bunch of pals and they told a bunch of pals and so on and so on. You know, like that shampoo commercial years ago.
The love and kindness snowballed far greater than I could have ever imagined. I was totally in awe.
Dogs were walked, kittens were snuggled, trees were planted (for the dogs of course!). Many devoted a day in a local shelter and dedicated it to my friend, made donations to animal organizations - money, food, towels, you name it! Wild birds and squirrels were fed, strays were loved, and nose kisses were given to every possible living creature. Of course many glasses of cheer were raised in her honour too.
So I told her - just briefly, she doesn't know ALL the details yet. However, she was completely overwhelmed and touched. Made me smile too. Think of all the animals that were helped! Wow.
I'm going to be smiling about this one for a long time!
Thank you!
Linda
