Don't Stop Til Ya Get Enough
Hey there Gentle Reader,
How was your St. Paddy's Day? Hope it was fabulous! Today? I can see you smiling.
Sunny and sparkly here in Toronto - still embracing the early Spring, STILL blocking out the potential of winter weather showing up next week *puppies and kittens, puppies and kittens - not listening weather duuuude*
Of course as we're going full force with our Spring Cleaning/Organizing, this gives us lovely space to welcome even more in our lives. Truly. Part of being human has us filling up spaces - you know, square peg in the square hole kind of thing. I'm suggesting that instead of rushing to replace one thing with another, to take a breather and decide what it is that you really REALLY want. Like when you were a kid and wanted that purple bike more than anything (oh wait, that was me!) You were so focused on getting that particular bicycle, right down to the racing stripes. There were no second choices.
Why is it that sometimes when we're adults, we tend to just take the first thing that comes along (oh you KNOW I mean relationships here too). We know we want a pair of black shoes but don't always take the time to figure out EXACTLY the perfect ones. We spend more time choosing our muffin flavour on a Tuesday morning than the best cell phone plan, or if we pay too much in banking fees, or if we have to have yet another black sweater just because it was sale.
We need to be as determined as we were when we were kids. We had our imagination in high gear then. We didn't want JUST a pony but a black and white speckled pony with a dark blue saddle, turquoise ribbons in her mane and tail, and answers to the name of Jasmine. Oh yeah. Me again. When you picked an ice-cream flavour, you were literally skipping and jumping out of the ice-cream store because IT-WAS-THE-MOST-TERRIFIC-FLAVOUR-EVER!!!!!!!!!! No vanilla cone for you back then! You wanted what YOU wanted and not what anyone else told you. Remember?
Good.
Today's assignment - writing down in your journal some really specific things you want in your life for 2010. I want to see lots of great details! You know you can do this Gentle Reader. I BELIEVE in YOU!
Until Friday!
Linda
