Spring Cleaning...The Sequel!
Hey there,
How was your Friday? Great I hope! Well Spring Cleaning...part two....here we go!
This weekend is definitely a big recycling time for me. I have no idea how I collect so many receipts, brochures, flyers, etc. Ok, that is sooo not true. Have purse, collect paper. Really that simple! My eldest kitty LOVES paper as much as I do (for you Animal House Calls fans, you remember the CALL?) and waits for the mail carrier to drop items on his noggin. Makes him a happy boy! The little one loves paper too though more to scatter it than bite it. They do make a great team!
Part of the problem of gathering paper is not having one home for it. Oh sure I have drawers and a filing cabinet and desk BUT not one central area. Not good Gentle Reader, not good. You always need to have one specific place to store certain items - the best being closest to where you will use the item. For me, it is the computer desk.
First you should REALLY get this fabulous book by Hellen Buttigieg: http://www.amazon.com/Organizing-Outside-Box-Conquer-Learning/dp/192664509X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1268575277&sr=1-1 Organizing Outside the Box: Conquer Clutter Using Your Natural Learning Style. This book is informative, practical, and fun to read. You'll finally discover why you prefer to organize (or not!) in a certain way and how to deal with those in our lives who think and organize differently. Knowing the WHY is as important as the HOW when it comes to maintaining your home or workspace.
Today is the day that mismatched socks are recycled into something else, where seasonal sweaters are dry cleaned and moved to the top shelf and I plan my list of much needed spring clothes. First warmer season since the weight loss!
Cds and books will be organized as well and some may go - to make room for new items of course!
If you're a fan of Feng Shui http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feng_shui, you know that having broken items in your home doesn't encourage good energy in your environment. If you can repair the item, that's great. If not, please pass it on to someone who can or recycle.
Plus today being so rainy, WELL it is a fabulous day to start Spring from the inside out!
Have a great Saturday....
Linda
