One More Time with Feeling
Hey Gentle Reader,
How is your Monday? Hopefully a great start to a brilliant week. Why yes, I AM drinking coffee, does it show?!
Ever walked to work and found that you barely remembered the journey? Or that you watched 3 hours of tv on a weekend, only to discover that the last two shows were repeats from the previous week but you watched them anyways?
Today's chat is about being mindful of your day to day routines. Oh yes, we're talking goals here folks! I want you to be fully engaged in everything you do. Otherwise time can really fly by and NOT just for the fun times. Sometimes you get into a rut and it is far more comfortable to drift hour by hour without having to be present. However, I am asking you to take one day this week and really be aware of every minute. You'll be surprised at how much you do (or don't) in 24 hours.
It can be very easy to always live in the future by imagining your life after your goals have been achieved. Pretty dynamic BUT only if you start taking action TODAY. Sadly you can also live in the past, playing over difficult times over and over hoping to come up with a different history. Unfortunately, that won't happen and you can get caught up in an exhausting loop.
Best combination is to visit both the future and the past in equal doses but keep your citizenship to present-ville. What? Like I wouldn't live in present-ville? *insert big grin here*
It is amazing how many things you can miss in one hour if you're on cruise control. Tomorrow, try taking a different route to work. If you can't do that - try sitting in a different area of the subway or train, or go to another coffee house instead. Something out of the norm for you.
Let me know how it goes ok?
Until Tuesday!
Linda
