Just Do It
Hiya,
Tuesday March 2 and all is sunny here in Toronto. Literally. SUNNY! Ok, still very cold but it is good to see that big yellow ball in sky. I heart the sun!
You know, Gentle Reader, we all have goals that we are ALMOST ready to tackle. Tasks that we continue to write on our To-DO list (and the emphasis being on the DO part). Makes us feel good when we write them down as if we've ALMOST accomplished them but we...well...tomorrow's another day!! See how that happens? I used to do this all time and then got smart - wrote tasks on Post-It notes in my agenda book and then just moved 'em. Clever monkey! Except (HA!) of course many items on the list were never crossed off - just transferred from day to day.
For that very reason, I now write items in INK (various colours) in my green journal (can't rip pages out of it!) and JUST DO IT! (thank you Nike!)
There is something far more satisfying about actually reaching the goal rather than just postponing it (and YOUR life I might add!) I realize that you do get a wonderful feeling about the THOUGHT of all the big changes you could do with your life but let me tell you this...you will become downright GIDDY when you actually finish the project! This could be as simple as painting that one cupboard door in the bathroom, updating your address book (please see yesterday's blog "Housekeeping of the Heart"), or recycling those old phone books in the basement that you keep tripping over. Or it could be as BIG as deciding to go back to school, planning that European trip for next year, or joining Weight Watchers at work.
Only YOU know what YOU need to do. Once you write those items down on that list then JUST DO IT! I'm close by if you need me!
Linda
