Red, White and GOLD!

Hiya,

HAPPY HAPPY Sunday to you!!!! Well, as you can imagine, Canada is enjoying a countrywide party right now.  The sounds from Yonge Street are beautiful and overwhelming. People with flags, singing the national anthem, hugging each other, and cars honking like crazy.  We won the GOLD in womens and mens hockey and truly this is what makes Canada the BEST place to live. Our national pride.  We are a flannel-wearing, donut-eating, hockey-loving, peacekeeping country.  We may be smaller in numbers than our US cousins but we are mighty! We are so very VERY proud tonight and after doing so amazing during the Olympics.

I was born in Toronto and raised across the country and landed back in the M postal code when I turned 22.  One day I will split my time between NYC and Toronto but my heart and home will always be here.

Here we are 3 hours after the mens hockey GOLDEN win and the cars are still honking.  Many Canadians, like myself, are indoors watching the closing ceremonies in Vancouver.  Wonderful images of smiling faces!

Thank you WORLD for visiting our neighbourhood and for giving us so many incredible memories!!  Please visit again soon.

Tomorrow we might add a bit of blue to our red and white but it's only because the last 17 days were magical and we're sorry to say goodbye.

Hey Canada, wasn't that a party?!

Linda
