Dancing Queen
Hey there,
Saturday and all is groovy in Chartreuse Monkey's world. How about you? Great? Yay!
You know I have this love affair with music and all things dance. As a kid I was a HUGE fan of musicals - my favourites being anything with Doris Day or Fred and Ginger. Oh yeah and Debbie Reynolds too. Fun movies with positive upbeat themes. My kind of town.
I'm never far from music. I cart my iPod everywhere. During my travels to work, visits to the laundry room, running errands, traveling to see my family, etc. Can't imagine a day without songs. At work you know I always have 104.5 CHUM FM on my radio - if you want to listen to the BEST show on radio, listen to Ingrid Schumacher from 9am to 2pm weekdays and 6am to 9am on Saturdays http://origin1.chumfm.com/default.aspx - I dance all week long!
Sometimes when the world gets a bit heavy, we all need a good escape. For me it is certain songs that bring me joy and take me to that other place. I'm am starting to explore different musical sounds now thanks to Facebook and a fabulous group of pals who are always finding new tunes. Always great to explore creative sounds - technology has brought the world closer together and especially the art/music community. For $1.29 Canadian, I can download a song from iTunes - much more satisfying that a cookie from Starbucks! (in case WW is watching....)
Then there is my true love - high energy dance music. Right now the Black Eyed Peas are kicking up a fuss on my iPod - all freakin' day long. Have you heard "The E.N.D."? It is magic!! This is the kind of music that gives me energy during my workouts each day. Need 'em, love 'em!
Yes, of course DISCO is on my play list too - A LOT. Come on, you can't love dancing and DISS Disco - you.just.can't.
What are your favourite songs right now? What makes you smile?
Linda
