Own that Podium!
Hey there,
FR-FR-FREEZING FRIDAY!!! Slushy, snowy day here in Toronto. We're still just 22 sleeps until Spring. At least on paper. Hang in there!!!!!! I mean literally...hang in there. It's slippery!
Well the Olympics are just flying along AND Canada is mighty proud with all the medal wins. Truly remarkable and this event has done so much to bring this country together in a big old bear hug.
So I got to thinking and you know where that gets us...out-there-ville which is just around the corner from sunshine-smiley-town.
Let's go!
What if we performed the goals in our own life with the same determination and focus as an Olympic athlete? Keeping our eyes on the big prize (whatever that is for you) and doing our absolute best in all we accomplished?
Can you imagine a day where everyone around you was also doing their utmost to be a fabulous person, employee, friend, etc? Wow! Your morning coffee person would be grinning and getting the gold for customer service, you would get that seat on the bus or subway (if you needed it) because the person currently sitting in it would leap up and gladly offer it to you. Another medal performance and all around would be smiling. (Oh come on, go with me on this one, it's FUN in my head!)
Let's imagine that your game plan lists all the tasks that you want to do today and you cross each off with personal pride. Not just picking up the cleaning or buying cinnamon rolls for the office (though those are good too) BUT drinking those 6 glasses of water or walking up the stairs at the subway and avoiding the escalator? Being good to yourself!! If you were as wonderful to yourself as you were to others, well let me tell you (and I WILL), you world would be even MORE spectacular.
Being authentic is golden, Olympics or otherwise. If you don't support yourself in all you do, you are telling yourself that you don't matter very much. We BOTH know that you do!! A winter analogy here, we know that snowflakes are all individual and unique. We are amazed at that fact YET don't seem to always celebrate our own unique and special qualities. What the HECK is that all about? Those are the BEST parts of us!
Today I want you to be an Olympian in your own life and go for the medal run with everything you do!
Yay TEAM YOU!!
