Dessert FIRST!
Hey there,
Sleepy day over here. How about you? Have one kitten wedged behind me in this chair and another smaller one on my lap. Makes for interesting typing! Still in my flannels too. Ah Sunday, I love you so!
I am still in Weight Watchers and will continue with my healthy lifestyle for 2010. However, there is nothing wrong with having your dessert first! How many of us reach for the menu and turn to the baked goods at the back THEN go to the salads or main dishes and do "food math". You know, where you try to see what you could possibly eat AFTER you have decided on that brownie sundae as a given. Now I admit that I don't eat dessert very often these days - I mean I did GAIN the 50 lbs because of my sweet tooth! That's perfectly fine though - I'm much happier and healthier for it.
What I really mean is that you must enjoy the DESSERT OF LIFE - whatever brings you so much joy that you could burst! You must add more of it to your days and not be so concerned about what you think you SHOULD be having/doing/etc. Those "should of, would of/could of"'s will get you down every single time. That inner critic (little fellow with the big voice) needs to be given a time-out.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting all the good stuff now. YOU DESERVE IT! Why settle for mediocre when you can have the BEST now? Quality over quantity, Gentle Reader. That's the ticket! You don't have to spend a lot of money to have a lovely life. Sometimes it just takes a wonderful homemade cookie, a bunch of field daisies, or a glittery pen from the dollarstore to make your day sparkle! Could be a framed photograph of your bestfriend (two-legged or four-legged!), renting your favourite movie, or taking an extra nap on the weekend. Do that BEFORE you clean that bathroom or hang up your jacket. Truly. FUN before not so fun.
So today, have that dessert first before you tackle the bills. At least you'll be smiling!
Linda
