I Got A Secret
Hey there,
Hope your Sunday is fabulous!! Pretty fine over here in on the planet of Chartreuse Monkey. Could be the endless coffee I've been drinking since 7am too. Mmmm...coffee.
So Gentle Reader, how's life these days? Wonderful? Amazing? Challenging? Whatever it is, I hope it gets better with each hour. Truly. I certainly know what it is like to feel that you're sitting around and waiting for the good stuff to happen. Your meal is ok but you really really REALLY want dessert and you never seem to get there. I used to be the same way but not anymore.
No I didn't get a Slap Chop and Graty BUT I still have an exciting life! Don't believe all you see on tv.
Started way back in the early 1970's. Came across some books at my grandmother's home - "The Power of Positive Thinking" by Norman Vincent Peale, "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie, and "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill. They were called positive thinking books back then and they appealed to young teen me. I had always had that Doris Day mentality about life always been sunnier tomorrow (yes Lil' Orphan Annie and Pollyanna had it too).
I read these books over and over again. Most adults I knew back then were quite the realists and more pessimistic than cheery. Didn't make me want to hurry to grow-up. Probably the reason I still act like a kid today - CRAYOLA's ROCK! The books and their ideas became the foundation for my life.
Then the book "The Secret" came out along with the movie. Incredible words and stories from the global community and all were saying the same thing - life is what you think about and can be whatever you want it to be. No dream is too big or too outrageous. If you write down your goals, truly see them in your mind's eye as happening, the universe will guide you to the best outcome. Ask, believe, receive. For some, it seems too good to be true and possibly naive but it has worked for me. NOW YOU KNOW!
Yeah, I'm a huge fan of "The Secret" and all those positive thinking books. I've been teased about if for 4 decades now but I keep on, keeping on!
Sunny side of the street is my home address.
All of these books are in most libraries and certainly available at Amazon and local bookstores. I highly recommend reading one or two (or all). Let me know what you think!
Hope to see you on Monday.
Linda
