Paper Chase
Hiya,
So good to see you on this chilly Thursday morning. Let me get your something warm to drink. You know my coffee mug is always half full (ok it is TOTALLY full but you get the shout-out to Wednesday’s blog).
We have chatted about organizing (or lack of) in the past and how I celebrate the wonderful Hellen Buttigieg and her book "Organizing Outside the Box: Conquer Clutter Using Your Natural Learning Style" http://www.amazon.com/Organizing-Outside-Box-Conquer-Learning/dp/192664509X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1263469749&sr=8-1 as being very helpful in my abstract thinking, clutter-loving mind. Yes, I admit it. I seem to find comfort in paper clutter.
I hang onto receipts forever, ticket stubs (movies and concerts), and ANYTHING else that has been within a mile of a tree. I stack magazines and books on my night table. Like a colourful mountain that sometimes towers over me at night. Not good is that poor Kitten Jack is a jumper and many times will stand on the stack and ever-so-slightly push over onto the floor. I KNOW he does this on purpose since you know he loves all things paper too. The 2009 WALL calendar is proof of it as each month had teeny bite marks throughout. Busy kitkat!
Even called into Animal House Calls back in the summer when Jack’s vet Dr. Lu ViHos was the featured guest. Animal House Calls is a show on CP24 that is hosted by Ann Rohmer (Jack’s auntie!). Chatted on the show about the kitten’s love of all things paper. Dr. Lu was only concerned if Jack actually ATE the paper rather than just bit it or ripped it up. She thought he might grow out of it. 6 months later and the answer would be no. Like Mother like Son! (crazy cat lady – remember??)
I LOVE visiting old bookstores and library. Enjoy being around shelves of organized books (Chapters makes me happy too!). I even visit online stores that carry journals and stationery such as http://www.katespaperie.com/ but really thrill at the experience of visiting these places in person. Something about holding a book or journal makes me giddy. I heart giddy don’t you?
We all have that one area of clutter that is a challenge. Hellen Buttigieg does say that paper is the number one clutter problem for most people. Good to know that I’m not alone!
Have a fabulous Thursday. Hope to see you tomorrow.
Linda
