Have a Doris Day!

Hi there Gentle Reader,

Welcome back to my cozy corner of the web.  Do people even call it that now or do we just say online or virtual or something else.  I'm not the hippiest monkey in the jungle so if you know please tell me!

Been feeling a bit low for the past two weeks BUT the sun is shining today! (ok, not literally but I do have Ingrid's show on now at 104.5 CHUM FM, so the day is brighter).   Tonight I go back to WW after 3 weeks away.  Oh boy!  Me thinks that an increase on the scales is a big possibility (will let you know tomorrow).  If it is then I will take full ownership of those treats over the holiday season (and I HAVE to take ownership because I um ate 'em!)

You know my keyring actually has today's title HAVE A DORIS DAY with a cute photo of my favourite actress herself. Don't you just love watching Doris Day movies?  I thought it was great that she ALWAYS found a parking spot near the store, restaurant, or even the man (Rock!), that she wanted to visit.  That's why it is really called DORIS DAY PARKING!  Seriously.  Sadly her own personal life hasn't been as joyful as her movies BUT she is still active in animal rights and started the Doris Day Animal Foundation that helps protect animals around the world.  I was blessed to receive many letters since the 80's (yes, DD is my penpal!) and her enthusiasm for life always jumps off the stationery.  So flattering that she thinks I am the cheery and positive one!   I still get the occasional note which is always a thrill! Lucky Monkey.  We share a love of animals.

My natural inclination has always been to travel along the sunny side of the street.  This desire started very early in childhood even though my young years were not the happiest.  Still I always believed that the next hour or day or week would be much better.  Still do though the last 12 months have been AMAZING and wonderful.  My life continues to climb to higher levels.   I do have some major goals set for the next year and know that having a positive outlook helps a lot.

Now I know that it isn't just a matter of putting on a smiley face and walking outdoors to embrace the day.   Not that easy for some.  I am a huge supporter of getting therapy or taking prescription medication if you are unable to cope with life on your own. Anything that helps you enjoy a brighter time is a good thing.    We all need support at various times in our lives.  Yours truly included!  We're all here to help each other so that includes reaching out to the medical community as well.   The goal is having the BEST possible life that YOU can have.  We are all different and diversity makes the world go round!

That's why I love photography and painting.  Too very fun passions that allow me to capture joy.  Could be a fuchsia roses in the marketplace, a photo of Kitten Jack playing (and we BOTH know that I have a few 1000 photos of him!), or an abstract painting with rainbow swirls.  Only you know what makes you happy.  345 sleeps to Christmas too by the way! *insert big grin here*

Until Thursday, keep smiling!

Linda
