Kindred Spirits
Hey there,
Friday? Seriously? Well HELLO GORGEOUS! You too of course! Coffee, tea, hot chocolate? Warm up, it is sooo cold out there. Yes, my daily Canadian chant.
The universe has such amazing energy and we're all connected. A lot like the movie AVATAR if you've seen it (and if you haven't PLEASE DO!). We're a part of each other, of nature, and everything around us. The actions of one always impact others for good and not so good. That is the way of the world.
The other night I attended a Jane Siberry Salon in the home of two very lovely and talented people. Only 20 people were in attendance including Jane's family. One of those magical nights where everyone is vibing off of each other. Despite most of us being strangers at the beginning of the evening, we were all connected through Jane and her music. After the show, it felt like a reunion of sorts. Lots of lovely artistic energy everywhere. Sigh.
Since 1984, I've attended many Jane performances from small venues (The Queen's Bedroom above the old Dundonald Pub) to large - the Winter Garden Theatre (the show was "Quiet Please, There's a Lady on Stage") and the Ontario Place Forum. However, Wednesday night was far beyond any usual performer-audience bond. It was divine and special and one of those nights where you are smiling for years later. 19 others know what I mean. It was so special. I was blessed enough to work with Jane in 1992-93 as her Assistant and have continued to support and celebrate her art by getting the word out about concerts, cds, etc. A very natural thing for me to do when I really connect with someone as I did Jane all those years ago.
Those are the kinds of experiences that make a life sparkle. When serendipity is everywhere. My life has been like that since 2009 though truthfully it was for years before it. Only in 2009, I decided to really open up my mind and eyes and heart and SEE for the first time in a long while. I will never close them again.
Always look for those connections in the universe. Happily they are everywhere. So glad to have connected with you today!
Hope to see you on Saturday!
Linda
