Leap Before You Look

Hiya,

Thursday morning and here we are! The week is flying by huh? No warmer mind you BUT heading towards the weekend.

You know the old saying "Look before you leap?"  Well I like to say LEAP BEFORE YOU LOOK.  We have become a world of minimal risk-taking.  We sanitize EVERYTHING with sprays, wipes, and even censorship.  We bubble wrap our kids before they go to the playground - what happened to scraped knees or making and EATING mud pies?  This has really affected our ability to take big risks in life.  People seem to need to have many back-up plans, meet with others about their decision and then debrief about those meetings to even more people.  WTHeck?

Dating services are even more popular as many won't even go on a blind date and would rather have potential love interests complete a 40 page questionnaire and then be screened!  Have we become that busy that we can't even find THE ONE on our own?

We don't see movies without reading what the critics think - I know of some people who won't see any movie that gets a poor review.  Regardless of the source!  What happened to having your own opinion?  *scratches head*  Very sad indeed.

So I am going to join those who tell you to take bold leaps forward.  Ask that friend of a friend out for coffee, go see that new sci-fi flick (worst case scenario, you're out $13 - plus you can always walk out if you dislike it that much), or sign up for that cooking course. Just take that leap of faith.  You'll be glad you did!

Life is really all about the experiences, not always just the things! Though things are lovely too.  Whatever brings you joy!

What would you do if you need you couldn't fail? That's the LEAP I want you to take - today!  Take care? I'd rather you TAKE CHARGE!

Until Friday!

Linda

Good thinking! You are absolutely right. We are afraid to do anything these days without some sort of guarantee of its effectiveness. I'm not that way, of course. But I see my daughter squirt stuff on her hands all day. It's worse than not taking risks. It's FEAR. That's the worst part of it all.

That's right. It is FEAR.  We are teaching the world that fear is a commonplace thing and to feed into it.  Not good.
