I Can See Clearly Now
Howdy!
You're here, you're here! Hello Gentle Reader. Good to see you. That's today's topic. SEEING your own future. No, not like a psychic thing (although...we'll talk later!) but guiding your steps through your sub conscience. Today I'm going all New Age. How about a latte and putting your feet up? Comfy? Good, let's go.
You may have heard of a Vision Board before. They have been around for decades under different names. Basically you create a poster of sorts (any size though I recommend at least 8"x14") that have pictures of your ideal life. All you need is a bunch of magazines (home decor or women's magazines seem to work best for variety), scissors, and glue/tape. Go through the magazines and cut out any pictures that make your heart smile. Maybe that little red sportscar, or cottage up north, that perfect chair for your office, or a tiny tabby cat. Put the pictures on the board as a collage. When it is finished, the board should make you smile! Things that inspire you (please see the blog for January 4), or that have been on your wish list for a very long time.
Sometimes pictures will appear that you not even know that you wanted or desired. Those are the gems. Something that speaks to your soul. Other pictures will be a given (THAT'S the pair of boots that make me swoon) or even just a feeling (a muskoka chair on a dock overlooking the water).
Maybe it isn't a thing that you want at all. Maybe it is time (you notice you have three pictures of watches on your board), or peace and quiet (a mountain scene) or sleep (a pillow).
If you have watched the movie THE SECRET or read the book, you will remember the whole segment on Vision Boards. They are very powerful tools in helping you move towards your best year ever.
We tend to know what we don't want in life and don't always say what we DO want. The universe is just waiting to help you. Just say the word - or in this case, SHOW the universe what you want. A picture says a 1000 words.
Hope to see you on Wednesday. Until then, have a great day!
Linda

Regarding the Secret.. Years ago I would actually draw in color on paper what I wanted, and write notes to myself with it. I knew back then if I created it where I could visualize my desire it had a better chance of coming to pass... kind of like faith... I still have one of those drawings somewhere in the archives of my life..
