New Year Inspirations
Hello!
Happy first Monday of the new decade to you!! OH BOY!!! Um...sorry....BREATHE. Didn't mean to startle you there! *quietly hands over a warm beverage*
Been thinking a lot about inspiration - all the amazing people, places, and things that bring joy to my life. Many people inspire me - artists who put so much passion into their work (Punk, Joey, Barbara, Blanche, Leslie, Tina, Rhonda, Sarah, SAM, Joanie....the list is endless - thanks gang!!), speakers who inspire from the heart (thanks Hellen!), and YOU Gentle Reader with your comments and stories. I love hearing from you and getting to hang out in the cozy kitchen of Chartreuse Monkey. Ok, so who wants coffee cake?
Music and art give me tremendous inspiration and happiness. I see sound and hear art and colours. One big smiling abstract in my head! My iPod gives me the opportunity to carry all my favourite songs with me wherever I go. I am never without it! 104.5 CHUM FM is ALWAYS on my radio to keep me dancing every day (Thanks Ingrid - you rock!) My musical tastes are all over the place but truthfully I love dance, pop, and anything you can move to - YES the Black Eyed Peas sing to me every day!
The friends I have met at Weight Watchers inspire me to stay healthy! Their stories of their own struggles and courage keep me on the path to great health! Thanks guys!
I can easily visit the Art Gallery of Ontario and sit in front of my favourite painting and dream, dream, dream. The painting? "Orange Breaking Through" by Helen Frankenthaler (1961) - Ms. Frankenthaler celebrated her 81st birthday in December. Wow! Decades of sharing her artistic gift with the world. Thank you Helen!
Kitten Jack inspires me with his incredible energy and curiosity about everything. His mantra is "What is THAT?! I MUST EXPLORE!" Lately it has been all the upper cupboards in the kitchen. Despite being kept closed with kitten-proof devices (pony-tail holders and elastics), the cupboards are opened a few times a day by a long and lean 12lb Siamese cat who is taking inventory. No detail is missed by this guy!
I even keep an Inspiration binder of photos, poems, letters, etc. that make my heart jump when I turn the pages. Makes me want to paint or take photos which is always good for an artist! www.chartreusemonkey.com
My friends and family inspire me too just by living their lives to the fullest. Their support of my life is amazing too. I am truly blessed.
So Gentle Reader, what or who inspires you every day?
Until Tuesday, keep smiling!
Linda
