Abstract Thinking

Hiya,

So how are you doing on the second last day of the decade? All good I hope.  If not, here's hoping that 2010 makes up for your 2009!

This is the time of the year that I start making my lists and my lists have their own lists (as in "see other list").  Of course it doesn't make for very good sleeping and last I managed to get about 4 hours in there (not all at once mind you  - that would make sense!)

Kitten Jack, the ever loyal velcro buddy, followed me into the living room when I decided I might sleep better there.   Not really but it seemed like a great idea at 1am!  He curled up under the blanket by my legs.  Always a comfort that lad!

2009 was such an amazing year on so many levels that I have decided that 2010 is going to be even better!  I am not one to rest on the sidelines anymore so have lots of planning and thinking to do.  Of course that leads to endless loops of ideas in my noggin' that don't seem to quit.  Coffee? Why yes, that should help to keep the thoughts going for a long time!  It does and no wonder I dream in colour!

If you have seen my artwork, you will see that I have a love for all things abstract.  Obsession really.  I have tried landscape, portrait, and even water colour but always return to acrylics, big stretched canvas and lots of abstracts designs. Oh and finger painting! Most of my art is created by hand.  I need to touch art - emotionally, mentally, and of course physically!

Getting back to the lists.   I write in a journal on a daily basis.  Just random thoughts about people, places and things.  Goals, dreams, people I want to meet, art I want to create, and adventures for the future.  I am very grounded in the moment but love the endless possibilities out there! You know. OUT THERE!!!  I turn 49 in 2010 and feel like my life is really just starting.

Having these ideas down on paper frees me up to think about, well, MORE ideas!  I'm at an age where writing down thoughts and tasks is not only fun but practical.  Very practical!!   Also quite useful as patterns start to show up that my sub conscience is trying to tell me.  Those are the gems!

Since we are just 2 sleeps from the new year, I would suggest getting a piece of paper and using a pen or pencil (no computers here, somehow using paper is more freeing), start writing all that is currently in your heart.  Your wish list (and we ALL have those desires that are waiting to be heard).   No thought is too small to go the list.   Please try it and I am confident you'll discover some surprises about yourself.

Until tomorrow then, have a great day!

Linda
