What Was I Thinking? Oh yes, SALES!

Hiya

Boxing Day here in Canada where all the Christmas items and just about everything else goes on sale.   Today I decided to actually venture out - something I usually avoid on this day due to the crowds.  However Santa was very generous with the gift cards and you know how much I want sweaters sooo....

Ok, the next time I announce that it would be a FUN idea to go shopping at the Eaton Centre on Boxing Day, please wrap me in a Snuggie and don't let me out of your sight until the stores closed. Seriously! It was MADNESS in the MALL!

I have never seen it that crowded in my 25+ years of living back in Toronto. There were so many people that you couldn't see the floor. Dozens of people were sitting on the floor up against the store windows and having their lunch. It was like an airport after the flights get snowed in!

Of course this gal was sooo focused on getting those sweaters and the sales fairies were guiding me on my way!  Banana Republic had an amazing sale on everything.   Bought two sweaters - one green and one black - regularly $74 each for under $30 each INCLUDING tax!

Sales at the BAY were just as good so I bought one grey sweater, one black fleecy cardigan, and one black and white long sleeved top for a total of $118.  Very good indeed!

Of course having to walk back through the Eaton Centre afterwords was very interesting.  By this time it was around 3pm and really no less crowded.  Retail should see the results as everyone had lots of shopping bags.   The economy may still be recovering but it was smiling today!  All worth it!

So now I am enjoying my last holiday treat - a Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks and a slice of gingerbread loaf. WW will be back tomorrow but today - YUM!!

Hope you are enjoying your Saturday.   Let's get together on Sunday!

Linda
