4,3,2,1....
Hi!
Well here we are on Monday at the start of the Christmas week. How are you doing? Great I hope. BREATHE.....
Now no matter how organized you are for Christmas, today it will feel like you are missing a few days in the week. That NOTHING will be done in time and that Santa will be waiting for you to hurry up. Not true Gentle Reader. Everyone feels that way. Now granted SOME really haven't done anything yet for the holidays - decorate, sent cards, or even written a list. THOSE are the lovely souls who keep the eggnog people in business! (gift cards to the rescue!)
Let's face it, the holidays arrive the same time each year and yet we're still surprised when Christmas Eve rolls around! "Wha???? Santa is arriving WHEN?!" Yes folks, December 24 he starts the journey. You can even track it on NORAD at http://www.noradsanta.org/ - FUN!!
Of course there is still that nagging doubt that I have forgotten one MAJOR thing on my holiday to-do list. This Christmas will be low-key for a number of reasons but that's ok. I am much more into the spirit of the season than anything else right now. I recently purchased the new Petula Clark Christmas cd (lovely) and that keeps me smiling. Every year I like to add new holiday music to my collection. Plus I was a huge fan of Petula's in the 1960's (still enjoy her and saw her in concert 3 years ago). Her voice is just as wonderful as always.
Ok, back to Christmas planning - just 4 more sleeps!! Sorry, I made you jump. I am still VERY excited about Christmas morning even though we celebrate on Christmas Eve instead. Actually both days - one can never have too many turkey dinners (Ok, yes you CAN but a couple days in a row is pretty dang fine in my books). So far, I have indulged in some holiday treats but nothing too out of control for WW.
So I am happily counting down the sleeps until Thursday (I LOVE Christmas Eve - the joy mixed with the panic - high energy day!) I still have to get my Gingerbread Latte from Starbuck's (seriously, if you never go to Starbuck's but love the idea of a gingerbread in a cup - get ye to the closest location. You won't be sorry!) There doesn't appear to be any real snowfall here in Toronto in the forecast but we'll see.
I'm still dreaming of a white Christmas!
Until Tuesday, keep smiling.

Yes Petula is alive and celebrated her 77 birthday this year. She appeared at the CNE in August too. She has lived in France for many years now - her husband is from France.
