Is it Christmas Yet?
Hey there,
The last Saturday before Christmas. Sending lots of positive vibes to you folks who like the added pressure waiting to the last minute to do your shopping. Heart stopping good fun! Who knew that the malls would be sooooo busy!! *runs to get the eggnog*
Here we are in the week where both holidays overlap - Christmas and Hanukkah. Whoa. That's a lot of family and food! Here's hoping that you don't overindulge in both. I have some friends who celebrate both so I am hoping they are wearing their stretchy pants! (Santa knew what to do!)
Now is the time that you'll start getting holiday cards from people you didn't send to this year (and this includes gifts too! Oh joy!) You can always have some spare cards on hand to quickly send out - "What you just got my card? HAHA!! Great minds think alike! You will probably get mine tomorrow!!" The gift thing is a bit trickier. Like that episode of The Big Bang Theory where Sheldon didn't know what value of gift to get for his neighbour Penny. So he had dozens of baskets of bath products ready so he could determine the value once he opened her gift - Enjoy!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlhHTdDqoBc
This is the week where you start to panic even if you HAVE your gifts wrapped, cards sent, and the cookies baked. There is always that "what did I forget?!" feeling that kind of sneaks in a few days before and stays until Christmas morning. Especially when all the stores are closed and the best you'd be able to do are a bunch of scratch lottery tickets and a bag of Doritos (quite frankly nothing wrong with either in my opinion!!)
Also the time when you can really listen to holiday tunes, enjoy that eggnog, and go for a neighbourhood stroll to look at the lights. One of the great things of living downtown is that I can see all the amazing lights from my balcony. Lovely indeed.
Still NO snow here yet mind you but I won't worry just yet. Still have 6 more sleeps until Santa's big day so here's hoping!!
Have a fabulous Saturday and here's to fun on Sunday. Hope to see you then.
Linda
