Lady Paints the Blues

Hey there,

You, me, Monday - we just need coffee! (or tea or hot chocolate - BIG VOTE for hot chocolate).

2009 has been my year of participation in the wacky thing they call LIFE.  I heart it!  I have embraced so much this year but especially my art - both paintings and photography.  My website is my miniature gallery!
www.chartreusemonkey.com and my latest creations are all about the blues -colours and emotions.  You can still be happy and feel blue at times too. That's just being human!  In case  you're wondering, I am from this planet (or so they tell me!)

Lately I have been feeling a real connection to the colour blue.  Maybe it is because I am a dreamer and stare up at the sky a lot.  Perhaps it is because my boy's eyes are blue (Sir Jack the Siamese kitty cat) or even my own!  My favourite clothes are blue jeans. Say, perhaps I should be the Azure Monkey! Naw....chartreuse is still my signature colour.

The majority of my paintings this year have been blue.  Many have been sold (thank you!!), but I am hanging onto "Blue Zen" - that one has a story all it's own!  Some are available now on my website and on Facebook -
http://www.chartreusemonkey.com/Paintings_-_December__09.html - please email me if you have any questions at linda@chartreusemonkey.com - many thanks!

So about every 5 or 6 weeks, I head over to Curry's Art Store to buy more blue paints!  I love seeing all the colours from all the various brands of acrylic paints.   I would rather purchase the colour I want rather than make it.  I tend to like pure colours and am always concerned that I won't make enough of the shade of blue needed and then I'll be in trouble!  Or I will love the look of a certain painting done weeks prior and then not able to duplicate the colour.  Ah for the life of an artist!

Perhaps in 2010, I will venture back into other colours again, OR I will let the blues have their day for awhile yet.  We'll see.

Have a great Monday and hope to see you again tomorrow!

Linda
