Jack Attack
Hiya,
How was your Sunday? Weekend? Get everything done on your wish list? Hope so!
Today is the first anniversary of my meeting kitten Jack for the first time. I found kitten Jack while trying to mend a broken heart over the loss of my sweet Macy (almost 17 years). I was so blessed to have had her for all those wonderful years. I was having problems sleeping after Macy was gone (she slept on my head) so began searching the web and Siamese kitties were calling to me (and YOU know THEY are loud!) as they were favourites from my childhood back in Mississauga. I did lots of google searches for Siamese in Ontario and found the link that lead me to sweet Jack http://sites.google.com/site/justoriamese/current-litters. I chose the name Jack primarily for my late grandfather (well this is the closest I'll ever get to having children so....) Just Oriamese did a wonderful job in raising the wee lad for his first 12 weeks. I highly recommend them! (for the record, Jack's Dad is Caleb if you are looking at the litters and want a relative).
Then the excitement (FRENZY) started building until I was able to visit him at just 5 weeks old. What a charmer. A tiny ball of fluff with blue eyes and a very vocal hello! I cuddled with him and moments later he fell asleep under my chin. 10 minutes later he was wide awake and began washing his leg and then my face. Love!!
Of course try handing back your new kitten for ANOTHER 7 weeks as you leave him behind. OH! That was the hardest thing ever. To say goodbye, get on that GO train westbound to Toronto and feel like you have left your heart behind. To continue mourning the loss of your previous love and also anticipating the day when you would get your new baby in your arms. The timing certainly helped over the Christmas season. As you can imagine, I was teary-eyed for weeks.
Once January 2009 arrived though I was quite hyper. As you know, I began writing others about Jack - even though the kitten hadn't landed yet. I even encouraged a few to get new kitties of their own and they did. We were a great support team - nothing like being able to share kitten news with someone who is just as appreciative! All good. The fun continues as friends are still adopting kittens this year - it is like my birthday and Disney and Christmas Eve all at once. Purr!
I still miss Macy every single day but having Jack in my life (Sir Jack as he is known!) brings me incredible happiness.
He is my boy, my joy!
Until Monday, over and out from the House of Jack!
Linda
