Attitude of Gratitude!
Hi there!
Happy Saturday to you! Chilly here in Toronto but the sun was shining today. All very good indeed.
If you ever wonder what makes me grin all the time (beyond endless cups of coffee and CHRISTMAS)...the word is gratitude. Thankful for all the amazing people and things in my life. Pure and simple. I am thankful every single day. For my family, my friends, my home, health, job, etc.
2009 is THE year that I have named my gratitude year. Grateful for all the wonderful sparkly bits and even those that aren't quite spectacular. I have made many friends this year who are also on a quest of sorts. Women around my age who are so generous with their time, support, and above all friendship. Paths have crossed in all wonderful places with truly remarkable people. So terrific to be LIVING a fabulous life and not just dreaming about one!
Today I recycled some outdated and oversized clothes that were just taking up space in my well...SPACE! I replaced them with items that fit properly and make me smile. No longer will I have "laundry" clothes, t-shirts to save when I decide to paint again someday (walls NOT canvas - I do that every week!), or clothes that cost too much, never fitted properly, and scream "hello '90's!" in a big loud voice.
Those days are over.
Also long gone is the waiting game. You know, when pals invite you out and you think "well I am in my flannels, and I would have to go out in the cold, and I really want a cheese sandwich and...." and so you decline. I don't want to miss those experiences again. Now if a concert or show or invite comes my way, I shout YES! (ok Gentle Reader, not LITERALLY to the person because quite frankly that can startle people - so they tell me!) So....more life experiences in 2009 and MANY MANY more in 2010!
For all of these future opportunities, I am so grateful. Appreciative that I am at a time in my life when everything is coming together. I am getting to write my own life and live it! Pretty amazing.
