I Gotta Feeling
Hiya,
Glad to see you! Having a great Thursday? Hope so!
I had the BEST day hanging out with a friend who makes every minute an adventure! The kind of person who has such wonderful energy that you are happy just sitting next to them, drinking a latte or three. *insert big grin here*
Now you know how happy I am that we're in "THE season" - all things sparkly, glittery, and bright. Before, I only got this giddy during the holidays. In 2009, I have been feeling this way all the time. The entire year. For the first time in my life I am thrilled about being ME and all the blessings in it. The Universe has been amazing and I DESERVE to feel this joy. Not just during Christmas or my birthday but every.single.day.
For years I felt like I was watching a fabulous parade from the curbside. I had my blanket and coffee and was content to just watch others perform the music and have a fun time. I mean, what could I contribute to the parade?? Then in December 2008, I finally had enough of being a bystander and craved to be a participant. So I started marching both feet and haven't looked back since.
Then in April I decided to take better care of my health and joined Weight Watchers (WW). I haven't felt this good in YEARS. Almost 50 lbs lighter and my energy is back. Truly amazing! I actually don't dread shopping for clothes - before I just liked getting converse sneakers because they always fit! While I still seem to reach for the XL and size 18/16 clothes, I am actually interested in brighter colours, more form-fitting styles, and not shopping in the men's department (so much easier when you're big to hide in bigger clothes).
What you say, today's blog is NOT about Christmas? Who is writing this blog?! Well Gentle Reader, it is still me. Today was kind of enjoying the holiday spirit with a new friend. Really hearing those Christmas tunes and wearing the sparkly shoes too! Ok, so we listened to some slammin' Black Eyed Peas too - you MUST ask Santa for the cd "The E.N.D." - best album of the year.
Have a wonderful Thursday and we'll hang out again on Friday.
Linda

You did not just join the parade, you made it your own.
