Peace and Quiet

Hey there,

Happy Sunday to you! Today is an even HAPPIER day for me - the day BEFORE my pre-Christmas vacation!  I always take week off prior to the big holiday week (which I will work through) just to give me a breather.   I tend to really pick up the hyper energy of the season and not always in the best way!  Gives me a chance to catch up with pals over coffee/meals and finish all my holiday shopping. My favourite time of the year.  Just like the pre-concert buzz or the day or two BEFORE the trip overseas when the anticipation is ever so lovely!  That kind of tingly joy.

This year, I've found that I need to feel more grounded.  Living and working in downtown Toronto provides a lot of visual and audio stimulation!  Don't get me wrong, I'm a big city gal at heart and thrive on architecture, sidewalks, and bright lights.  However, I also crave silence (ok, now I can hear YOU laughing because of kitten Jack, the SIAMESE kitty!)    I used to dream of living in the country but when you don't drive, well, that's not an option!

I do mediate though not as much as I used to do.  Life gets busy and somehow I let "Linda time" slip away.  However THIS week will give me lots of opportunity to find my inner calm.  Painting abstracts gives me that space as I transfer the extra energy to the canvas.  Gives life to the art and peace of mind to me!

My happy place used to be focused on food.  Being quiet AND having a chocolate chip cookie (cookieS, I'm not kidding anyone here - especially WW!!), resting with a danish (raspberry, not person), or anticipating chips and onion dip.  Very Zen-like having one chip after another after another. Yuuuuummmm.

Of course you know me with THE LISTS.   This coming week will have peace AND lots on my to-do list. Yes, you're saying, but Linda, isn't doing nothing and doing a lot kind of counterproductive.  Actually not for me!  I like to mix the two up - not too much stuff to do but enough where I feel that my week was productive and fun.  I do have some get-togethers planned, a hair appointment (Leo's and their manes!), and some shopping too.  Being a big believer in giving to others for the holidays, I will be supporting the CP24/CHUM Christmas Wish this season

Day 1 of the vacation is almost here and no looking back!

Hope your Sunday is a great one!

Linda
