Tis the Season
Hey there,
Happy Saturday to you! Hope you had a great week and have some fun things planned for today.
Well we are starting to get into the holiday vortex - you know, when you think you have all the TIME in the world....laa dee daa....and then catch a glimpse of the calendar. ACK!, you cry (and don't think I can't hear this), I have soooo much to do and sooo little time.
Then the holiday panic sets in and this is where overspending and overindulging kicks in. Not pretty! No one wants to be paying for Christmas or Hanukkah long after the holiday season is over.
Today I am heading out to the Eaton Centre with my pal Becky (Sis). I am definitely bringing my camera. Nothing like capturing this kind of energy on film! The EC in Toronto always has amazing holiday displays and Swarovski (those creative crystal dudes) have a gorgeous massive tree in the middle of the mall. What can I say, I love watching holiday shoppers. Clinging to those long lists, text messaging family and pals for suggestions, questions. Men taking photos of toys to send to their wives to see if this is the THING that their kids really REALLY want. People making their OWN lists for Santa (or perhaps even helping him with the actual gift purchase - I mean it WAS on sale!!)
Oh and the music, muzak, whatever the malls play, I LOVE IT!! There is something about the blend of the music with the chatter of the shoppers that makes me giddy.
Of course there are those moments when you really REALLY feel for people. Seeing that crumpled gift list on the ground. Dude!!!! Your list!!!! Sigh. You can always tell the difference between lists by men and those by women. A woman's list will have the store highlighted along with the name, and size of clothing. The man's list, on the other hand, will say very little. No stores listed, a couple of names and never sizes. They are always hoping that a person, the exact same size as their loved one, will be say, hovering in the area and would be happy to try on clothes for a stranger.
Hope you have a fabulous Saturday and we'll get together again tomorrow.
Keep smiling! Looks great on you!

I had Holiday Tea with a few friends at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel! Loved it!! They had choirs from all over Toronto singing the all afternoon in the Lobby right beside the hotel restaurant -it was fantastic!
