Countdown to Claus!

Hey there,

Happy Tuesday - hope you slept well and had a great Monday.  Here's your mug. Careful, it's hot!! Let's get going!

Ho ho ho.  This that lovely time before the BIG DAY where you still have time to make that list, check it once (or twice!), and NOT become so stressed that all you really want to do is drink a pail of eggnog and inhale a dozen sugar cookies.  Breathe.... We still have time to get ready so not to fret!

Now I know there are traditions that you do every year that you THINK you NEED to do but don't really enjoy anymore.  I saw your eyes look away, I really truly did!  That's ok, this is a safe place where you don't ever have to feel guilty.

Christmas cards, yes or no?   Sometimes we are so afraid of what others might think that we go through the motions.  Sending out holiday cards is a tough call though.   Many do it for business reasons (though sending e-holiday cards might do the trick and spare the tree!), or keeping in touch with those we don't see often.  However, most people use the internet, Facebook (yay!) or email to keep close to family and friends so most people are as close as your monitor screen.     I will do some Kitten Jack cards this year but mostly my cards will be online.  Despite LOVING paper, when you add up the cost of the card, and postage, and the time involved, well perhaps this money could go to a charity instead.

Then there is the whole bake or not to bake and how much.  I'm there now.  With the added challenge of Weight Watchers in the mix,  I am debating what I make this year. With WW, it is all about moderation and having whatever you want, as long as you count the points.  Cookie magazines (and we ALL drool over them), will have you thinking that the holidays aren't the holidays unless you make AT LEAST a half dozen types! That's a lot of sugar folks!! Not to mention butter....mmmmm butter..... huh? Oh, sorry, I'm back!

How about this holiday, you and I have a little deal going on.  Only participate in holiday traditions that feel amazing and bring you joy and don't do anything that stresses you or adds to your financial debt.  Nothing like feeling you had too much to eat over the holidays and then getting your VISA bill in two separate bills! (been there, done that!) Debt at the scale and your wallet! Not a happy place.

What is the one holiday tradition that you feel you must do but has lost that sparkle over the years.  Maybe this is the year that YOU take back Christmas!!

Keep smiling and we'll see each other tomorrow.  I promise!

Linda
