Two by two....
Hi there and welcome back,
Yes it is Monday but we're here together so it will all be good!
A couple of days ago, we were chatting about ways to help each other over the holiday season. How we can purchase gifts from amazing organizations that provide services to those less fortunate. Also some wonderful sites that give so much without you even having to open your wallet.
Now if you know me, you know my heart follows the animals. All of them, not just Siamese kittens (hey Jack!) or monkeys! Message to dragonflies and spiders, nothing personal dudes but let's just do high fives from here, ok? *shivers*
There are so many fabulous animal organizations, and shelters that could use your holiday coinage this time of year. While you may be buying that fun chew toy for your own sweet doggy or those catnip treats for your adorable kitty, there are many animals who will not have the same joys as your beloved pets.
You may like donating to some of the larger groups like The Toronto Humane Society or ASPCA http://www.aspca.org/ - not only do they struggle over the holidays but with the current economic times being so challenging, they are hit the hardest. One of my absolute favourites is the Doris Day Animal Foundation. Actress/singer Doris Day has always been a huge supporter of helping the animals and would much rather talk about animals than her entertainment career. She continues to work very hard to do what she can to make the world a safer place for all animals. No retirement plans for this inspiring woman! http://ddaf.org/dd/
My current favourite animal organization is run by the amazing Ursula Hart http://havenoftheheart.wordpress.com/ - Haven of the Heart animal sanctuary. Please read her story on the website and help if you can. You'll be happy you did!
So this year when you buy a toy to put in your pet's stocking, please remember those animals who may not know that same joy this year.
Kitten Jack thanks you and so do I! *insert BIG HUG here*
See you on Tuesday!
Linda
