Random Acts of Kind-mas

Hey there,

Good to see you. How was your Thursday? Hopefully very VERY good – I hear that today will be even better! Pass it on!

To follow on the recent Christmas/holiday themed blogs (I know you’re thinking, I did NOT see that coming…*grins*), today’s chat is all about helping others during the holiday season. There are so many amazing ways to assist our family, friends, and neighbours through the holidays.

You can purchase gifts through www.greatergood.com where you are helping others by giving gifts – win-win! Plus clicking on the various buttons will do everything from providing food to a person in need, allowing the care for an ill or injured animal, or assisting an literacy program overseas. This will cost nothing from your piggy bank. Please bookmark this site and you can help every day by clicking on each organization.

You can also order 100’s of different kinds of actual gifties online to send to loved ones (and of course you love yourself, right?) – books, jewelry, clothing, pet toys, art – the list is endless!

However, as far as making charitable donations to honour others, you have many organizations here that can help you. Everything from providing food to a rescued lab monkey on someone’s behalf (um…HELLO!),  providing educational books to young children in the US (or other parts of the world), or sponsoring a teacher in a 3rd world country.

Another fabulous Christmas charity that could really use your coinage is the CP24/CHUM Christmas Wish www.thewish.ca/wishCore.cfm This amazing charity helps to brighten the holidays for kids and teens in need. Tell them that Sir Jack (kitten-head) sent you! He is giving his allowance to help children because he knows he has lots to be thankful for and has more toys than a small PetSmart.

We'll be chatting about this idea again in blogs of the future (future...future...future....) What? I can't have sound effects too?

Enjoy your Friday and we'll hang out on Saturday!

Linda

Take it from me, we all have too much stuff cluttering up our lives. This is a brilliant, stress-free way to give. Thanks for sharing this great idea.

Hellen, many thanks! Coming from you this is a huge compliment.   Even Kitten Jack is getting a donation in his name this Christmas (yes, I am one of those cat people!) - he has enough catnip toys for a dozen kittens! Linda

PS. Pals are purchasing your book and loving it. Thanks again for writing it!
