38 days until Santa....

Happy Monday to you!   Hope your weekend was a great one.

On CP24 this morning, they announced that there were just 38 days until Christmas. That's my kind of news!!  Though seriously, how the heck did we get this far into November?  I mean sure, Christmas music started even before the pumpkins were gone (NO complaints from me) AND holidays always do overlap, but I thought for sure we had more time.  I've barely read my second Christmas magazine (*swoons*)  and the weather is still in the double digits.   A couple "moments" of flurries here and there but they were gone before I could even grab the camera - and that my friend, is FAST!

I actually did a double-take over a Christmas sweater in the window at Talbot's and was happy to see that a neighbour was purchasing Christmas wrap.   I haven't let myself get TOO TOO excited just yet.  Trust me when I say YOU AIN'T SEE NOTHING YET (sorry Al!) regarding my hyper-holiday-warp-speed.   You will definitely think I had a wee too much egg nog and a box of Laura Secord miniatures all at once.   You'll see....look for it around December 1. Just saying.  I'm all bold and underlined by then!

That said, this is the first Christmas with Sir Jack so a tree is out of the mix.  A Siamese kitty and a Christmas tree with ornaments and lights you say? What can possibly go wrong there?  Oh, gentle reader, I have so much to tell you!!! I am still nursing the scratches from the "vacuum cleaner" incident last week (my career has a hand model is over!) He has broken a few framed pictures, a couple of vases, and two china cow figurines (3 shelves up in the kitchen).  Add to that munching on every paper product out there - shredded paper towel rolls, toilet paper, library books (HA! Did I SAY library books?!! Why that would be so wrong!!), money (yes money), magazines, and photos!!   That was just the first few months SO just say no to the tree.

Still I am totally into the spirit of the holiday season.  People are smiling more, the stores look amazing, and I do admit to listening to more Christmas music than is humanly normal to do!  Out with normal and in with ODD - that's ALWAYS been my motto!

Toronto had it's Santa Claus parade yesterday (and for the record, I am NOT afraid of clowns, I just don't need to see them - like ever) so the season has officially kicked off here in the city.   All good.

Have a fabulous Monday and we'll get together again tomorrow.

Linda

    Ah yes...kitten/cat destruction!!!
Sorry to hear your days moonlighting as a hand model are done for the time being.
I'm so amazed at houses with Christmas lights on already.
And welcome to the world of no-Christmas-tree-due-to-climbing cats!!
    Hugs,

Try putting the toilet paper roll on backwards. It just goes round and round and doesn't get totally unrolled. But don't ever let Leslie (dogfaceboy) in your house. She will reverse it every time.

HA!!! If I WERE lucky enough to have Leslie visit me, I would gladly let her do this all day long if it made her happy!

      Certainly keeps Sir Jack amused!
