Wait Watchers

Hiya,

Hope you had a fabulous Wednesday and now are happily into Thursday!

Last night I had my regular Weight Watchers meeting.  All went well - down 1.2 lbs which is MUCH better than last week's 2.4 lb gain! ACK!! That is what happens when you embrace comfort food during a week of nursing a head cold, ignore the "shout-outs" from the exercise bike,  AND "forget" that say, you're IN Weight Watchers....

Lesson learned!!

So I am once again heading in the right direction.

I admit that these last 10+ lbs have been tough to let go.  Both physically and mentally.  When you've been a chubby gal for a long time, it becomes such a part of your personality.  An easy lifestyle where food is your BFF and you enjoy making negative jokes about your weight, appearance, etc. because so many others do it about themselves. Heck, even Miss Oprah herself is in that group!  ALL of my previous social events were food-based - food first, event and people second.  Sad but true.

Here we are facing the holiday season and this gal is a wee bit nervous.  I love to bake cookies for Christmas and I haven't had to deal with the temptations of all those goodies until now.  Plus you  know they are EVERYWHERE during the yuletide season. People LOVE LOVE LOVE to share all things buttery and sugary and delicious.   It would be downright uncivil to say no all of the time!

I am such a Chrimbo addict  (yes, that is a REAL word!) - the holidays make me giddy and they always include LOTS of food treats.  I adore holiday "buffets" - and know of one that looms in mid December.  (please see my blog on "The Most Wonderful Time of the Year."

Now I should be ready this year because WW has taught me so much since April, and I am 42 lbs lighter, and, and....

but.....

what about the mashed potatoes with butter and gravy, endless sugar cookies, the eggnog, mincemeat pie with ice cream??  While I am realistic in that I won't be able to avoid them 100% (seriously, NO shortbread or Starbucks Gingerbread latte during the holidays?? That just makes me mist up.)

So I will take the holidays just one cookie at a time.  I have the support of many lovely people that will be there to get me through the season.

And if you see this girl during the holidays, I am ALWAYS a fan of hugs!! (no calories too!)

Enjoy your Thursday and see you in the morning.

Linda
