Birthday Boy!

Hi there and HAPPY SIR JACK DAY TO YOU!

Yes, my sweet kitty boy turns 1 today.
Can't believe how quickly that year flew by. Oh yeah, it always does when you're having fun right?!

He started out as a tiny ball of white fluff and then his markings appeared weeks later.  He looked like a teeny bobblehead doll.  I fell in love the second I saw his wee snout online.  Even cried when Julie and Tammy told me that he was going to be mine.  Had the name picked out from the beginning.  Huge fan of the show "Torchwood" and Captain Jack is my favourite character.  Also my grandfather was named Jack and since this will be the closest I'll ever get to having a child, well, it seemed a good idea!

Of course I have never been so sleep-deprived as I have been this year.  The boy sleeps by day and prowls, plays, and pounces by night.  He has two cat-trees, a kitty tent from IKEA, and more toys than PetSmart!

Jack has also been key in my making many new friends this year - other women like myself who adopted kittens in 2009. At least 6 of us so far!!  Of course there is the original Kitten Momma, but she knows who she is *waves hello*

Hey,  come to think of it, we have a gang! *theme from westside story begins in the background*

I can't imagine my life without this little dude. He helped mend a broken heart and has provided hundreds of hours of entertainment.  The lack of sleep is a small trade-off! There will be a book on Jack in the very near future too. Details to follow soon!

Right now he looks very tiny as he is snuggled behind me on the computer chair.  Still has that kitten-like face despite being over 12 lbs now!

Sigh.

Have a great Wednesday and we'll see each other tomorrow!

Linda
