Journalist
Hi there, how was your Sunday? Happy I hope! Thanks for the visit this Monday.
Back in the day, one of my career dreams was to be a journalist. Even seriously considered going to Carleton University in Ottawa (Canada's top journalism school). However, there was this thing back in the 70's called GOOD MARKS and well, let's just say that Charlie Brown and I would have been pals, Stephen Hawking, um...not so much. However, I like to CONSIDER myself a journalist because I like writing in my journal AND writings lists....get it?!
*crickets*
Ok, moving on....
I adore writing - lists, letters, emails, notes, blogs (!!!) you name it, and I will write it! I wrote a lot of fan letters when I was a kid - Helen Reddy (you know all about her!), Anne Murray (ditto), Doris Day, and even Benny Hill! ALL wrote back! I truly never expect a response when I write a note, but 9 times out of 10, I get one. Really magical!
However, I really REALLY love capturing random thoughts, dreams, ideas, in my journal. Not a "Dear Diary" kind of journal. More like a wish list. You know, when I read back over the entries, the majority have come true. People I want to meet, places I want to visit, clothes I need to get! Nothing is too big or too small to be in the book.
This gal is a very determined person when it comes to dreams and goals. If you are on the list well then YOU ARE ON THE LIST. Currently I have a lovely green leather journal from Indigo. However, I am just as happy when writing on scraps of paper or in dollar store notebooks. Most of my writing is done with paper and pen though I am spending more time writing on the computer (like here!)
One of my favourite places to write is at a local coffee shop in town. By myself. I hang out there to enjoy a latte and dream. The music is always amazing and I might even write down "find that song by U2" if I hear something new. I get many of my artsy ideas from my writing too - colours to use, and themes, for both photography and paintings. My way of thinking is VERY abstract so writing in a journal or a list helps me organize.
What things do you like to write about? Even Santa has his LIST!
Have a fabulous Monday and see you in the morning!
