Shop around...

Hiya and how are ya? Great I hope!

Well now that my weight is still going down (yay), you'd think I'd be on the next express shuttle to Shoppingland.  However, I was never a huge fan of clothes shopping prior and now am still finding it difficult to embrace the whole fashion thing (however I love fashion!)   For years I shopped at Mark's Work Wearhouse  or department stores but in the MEN'S section so I could get jeans and shirts/sweaters to fit properly.  Plus it was cheap and cheerful and I didn't have to put much effort into the decision part.   I liked that a lot.  Clothes that were "fashionable" to me were ones that covered me up!  I know, the bar was pretty low on this one.

When you have struggled with body image your entire adult life, it is very overwhelming to suddenly be faced with the fact that you no longer have to hide behind your clothes.   I always made jokes about my weight and liked to bury my body in oversized t-shirts, sweaters, and pants.  My winter jacket was an XL MEN'S puffy black downfilled jacket.  Had room to layer up and still be cozy.   Topped it off with a cute monkey hat (yes, you read that right..) and I was good to go!

So it makes me anxious at the thought of shopping in NEW stores (girl stores!) and buying lots of clothes that actually fit my body and not cover it up.

I always LOVED reading the September issue of Vogue each September (the FALL season was always THE season) but I was more comfortable with the idea of the clothes being on someone ELSE and not me!  Certainly not to dress to show anything off! MERCY!!!

Weight Watchers tonight - the first weigh-in since October 7 (was sick last week but you know that already!).

Will keep you posted on my shopping adventures...

Over and out from Linda

After putting on a ton of weight and then recently losing 30+ pounds (all back and more now), it was weird shopping for regular cut jeans instead of the loose fit baggy style. I'm back to that now though. Lost it once, I can lose it again, right?
