Kindred spirits....
Hey there,
Welcome back! Hope your Monday was everything you wanted it to be. If not, then here's to Tuesday! A fresh start.
Well my cold is gone now and I am finally feeling like myself again. Phew!! Thanks for your emails , thoughts, and well wishes. They helped a lot!
Speaking of emails, to me a friend is a friend whether we've met in person or not. Having grown up across Canada (born in Toronto, lived in Edmonton, London, Mississauga, Kitchener, and now back in Toronto), I have met some fascinating people over the years. When I was 15 years-old, I had over 40 penpals from across North America and the UK. I am still in touch with 7 of them via email and Facebook. Have met 6 of the 7 in person. However, I don't need to see someone in person to call them a friend. It's a connection, a life experience, or something as simple as sharing a favourite tv show as a child. Kindred spirits.
I am so blessed to have many amazing people in my life - both here in the city and in email-land. Actually for me, it is all the same. My world has no borders and my community includes all. I love and adore all my friends. They know it because I tell them all the time. I am a big believer in letting people know that you appreciate them. No point in waiting just for a birthday or holiday to express your admiration or joy in having them in your life. I do it all the time! Life is far too short to wait.
Who is that one person that inspires you or makes you grin every time you think of them? Write them today. Even a short email is wonderful. A handwritten notecard would be fabulous. Can you imagine going to your mailbox and getting a "Thinking of You" card from a pal? On a Tuesday yet?! Do it today and let me know how it goes.
The world needs more of this kind of joy. Truly. YOU have the power to give it.
Enjoy your Tuesday! Animal House Calls for me tonight at 5:15pm on CP24. That show makes me smile every week!
Keep smiling and we'll reconnect tomorrow!
Linda
