The Show Must Go On!
Hiya,
Hope the start of your week went well! Can't believe it is Tuesday already!
Ever have those days when you want to stay in your pjs, crawl under the blankets and stay there for a few hours, days, or more than a few days? You do? Well I hear you! I'm there today. After 3 days of pretty much staying home with this cold, under various duvets, in my beloved flannels, with my trusty sidekick kitten Jack, I would love an encore performance. More than you know. Plus I am past the contagious stage so there really is no good excuse.
However, there is a very challenging day ready to greet me at work, the exercise bike is wondering where I have been since Friday AND the minutes are flying on by, so THE SHOW MUST GO ON!
Now I realize that might make me sound like a Martyr (which I am not - HELLO - LEO HERE), or a workaholic (AGAIN - LEO!), because I am pushing past this need to stay home and rest like a normal human being. However, I know this much about myself. I won't relax until whatever problem is bothering me is resolved. Now that said, I may decide to go home earlier if all works out as planned.
It would be far too easy for me to call in sick and let others deal with life on my behalf. Sure there are days when this option would be attractive but then there is than slippery slope where it appears to be the best option for lots of other times. Like when you were a kid and the math test was on Friday morning and you got a tummy ache on Thursday afternoon. Those times.
So today I will get on that bike, go into the office, and happily get back into those pjs when I get home. Plus my favourite show is on tonight - Ann Rohmer's Animal House Calls at 5:15pm on CP24 so that's a great incentive!
If there is something today that you would rather not do, please try to get outside of your comfort zone and push on. You will feel much better when you're on the other side.
Have a fabulous Tuesday and looking forward to seeing you on Wednesday!
Linda
