Thankful
Hi again,
Woke up this morning with a head cold. Very rare for me to get colds so when I do, I am ALWAYS in denial. So, let's just pretend I didn't write that sentence. Just to be safe, better move your monitor a few inches back. Don't want to get you sick too.
Moving on. *achoo*
This weekend is Canada's Thanksgiving. We celebrate it with the same kinds of family and food events as our American neighbours (except we've never embraced the sweet potatoes and marshmallows dish - interesting but no) We're definitely all for the turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, veggies, and repeat as necessary. Pumpkin pie with whipped cream for dessert and stretchy pants are required attire. However, Canadians don't have the same historical attachment to this holiday as the U.S. We like getting together with family and friends and of course LOVE the meal but it is a much quieter affair.
What is common on both sides of the border is a feeling of being thankful. I am grateful for so much in my life. The family, friends, and relationships that make me smile every day. Kitten Jack arrived in 2009 and he is my joy! In early 2009, this usually shy gal decided to embrace life fully and "get out there". I made some new friends, really worked hard on my painting, and decided that 2009 was THE YEAR to become healthier. So far I have lost 40 lbs since April 15. My goal is 50 lbs by the end of the year.
So Happy Thanksgiving Canada! What are YOU thankful for today?
See you on Monday.
Linda
